GoD and DoG

Sun, May 1 2011 - 12:16 PM

Went to a concert recently with my friend Tony and heard some great bluegrass pickers.  There was also a great set by legendary Christian singer/musician Don Francisco.  Don's wife Wendy performed alongside her husband that night and, at one point in the evening, sang a song that produced numerous sniffles in the people sitting around me.  I think I was one of them. It was a song about God, and about her dog.  Take 2 minutes and give a listen. Profoundly simple.  Simpl...

Thu, Dec 24 2009 - 16:13 PM

Someone forwarded the following letter to me. You may have read it before, but it was new to my eyes. I have made my point clear on this site that, despite the fact I am a Christian, I do not have typical likes, views, or opinions. I'm not even a big fan of most Christian music. However, there is one musical artist of faith for whom I hold the highest esteem: KEITH GREENNever heard of him? That's not too surprising – the controversial hippie Christian died in a plane crash in 1982 at the age of 28. Prior to that, the amazingly gifted musician was one of the first to bring Christian musi...

MODERN DAY MAGDALENE

Sun, Feb 24 2008 - 14:59 PM

Men are hard-wired for visual stimuli. In this Internet age, we are literally a click away from seeing pretty much anything our hearts desire (and there are some sick hearts out there). It has also been noted that when men gaze on pornographic images, the chemical released in our brains is like heroin -- no wonder this problem has reached epidemic proportions.I hate to admit it, but I have struggled with this too. Given my childhood of (witnessed) sexual abuse, I should know better. I am wel...
